We Have a New Website !!!
Our New Website
As you may have noticed, we have a new website! I loved our old website. I designed and hand-coded the bulk of the HTML for it (with a little help of DreamWeaver). I called it our "80% website." It looked great. It did what we wanted, but I never felt it fully represented Amano as a company--our dream, or our vision.
Many More Updates!
When I am traveling throughout the world hunting down the best cocoa beans, visiting our farmers, attending trade shows, or am simply on the factory floor making chocolate, I frequently need to adjust the website or change things around. This was difficult with our old website, but our new website was designed from the onset to make revisions much easier. This will result in a more up-to-date website with, l believe, more blog posts, more features, more everything.
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
Visually, I believe our new website is stunning. I have focused on working into the website much of the photography I have taken on my trips. I am still working on this. Over time, I’m going to try to work in even more of my photography. When I graduated from university, I was only three photo classes shy of a photography major. I’m pretty lucky to have a job where I can simultaneously pursue another of the hobbies that I love.
The Catalog/Shopping Cart
Our catalog and shopping cart is a lot easier for people to use, I believe. We still have a few bugs to work out, but even with the bugs, the cart is immensely more usable. For example, the new catalog is able to tell you more about each of our products than our old catalog could. We can also provide discounts for our customers in more ways than our old catalog allowed.
Ask The Chocolate Maker
One new section of our website that I am really excited about is Ask the Chocolate Maker. It is a convenient way for you to get answers to your questions about Amano, chocolate, what we do in our spare time (actually, that’s a joke -- we don’t have any spare time), or whatever you are interested in. Chocolate lovers have already posed a couple of questions. If you have more questions, please feel free to submit them, using the form on the Ask the Chocolate Maker page. I get all sorts of interesting questions and would like to turn this feature into an informative resource for people.
There are lots and lots of other changes to the website--some large, some small. We hope you will enjoy all of them. If you have any questions or comments about the website, please drop me a note.
