Our Passion, Our Dedication

Chocolate is our love and our passion. Located high in Utah’s Wasatch Mountain range in the heart of the Rockies, Amano is dedicated to creating the world’s most exquisite chocolate through traditional techniques. Amano means both “by hand” and “they love” in Italian. That describes the care and perfection that Amano brings to chocolate and in turn to the people who savor it.

We source only the world’s very best beans and ingredients. We visit the plantations, buy from the growers, and when necessary work with them to improve their skill in properly growing, fermenting and drying the cacao beans to meet our exacting standards.

Through working with small, carefully controlled batches and lots of love and attention, we seek not to be the largest chocolate company, simply to make the very best chocolate humanly — or heavenly — possible.

Our Factory

Amano Chocolate is located about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains in Orem, Utah. With great mountainous vistas along the east side of the city and Utah Lake on the west, Orem is reminiscent of the great cities in the Alps.

Our factory is designed for the making of some of the world’s best chocolate. We should have our new factory store open by the beginning of June. But if you’d like to purchase chocolate directly please feel free to stop by the factory. We recommend calling 801-850-3457 first as it is just a factory and we aren’t always there.

Directions from the Salt Lake City International Airport

Take I-80 East 1.6 miles to the I-15 turnoff.
Take 1-15 South toward Las Vegas.
Drive 28.3 miles and take the Orem Center Street turnoff. Take a right onto Center Street and an almost immediate Left onto Mountain Way Drive. Continue on Mountain Way Drive .5 miles until it ends at 400 South. Take a left on 400 South and continue one block to 1325 West. Take a right and continue South one block and a half to 496 South. It’s a grey cinderblock building without a sign across from Larry’s Towing. (Our new facility will have a big sign to make it easier to find)
